About the Event
Presented By Gungahlin Arts
Sometimes life is tough, and we just need a little extra encouragement. Join Gungahlin Arts to create your own inspirational poster to remind you that you got this!
Take some time out of your day to do some mindful making. In this online workshop you’ll get to come up with the statement that you most need to hear and use collage and drawing to create an inspirational poster for yourself. Your poster is yours to take home, and stick on your fridge, your bathroom door, or anywhere else you need to see it.
POSITIVE POSTER LAB
Positive Poster Lab is an invitation for you to take some time to connect with yourself and create a poster featuring a message you most need to hear. Project artists Sally Holliday and Tom Campbell will guide you through the process with tips, prompts and a virtual working bee on Saturday 17 October.
Place your poster on your fridge, the toilet door or anywhere else it will be there for you when you need just a little boost. Share your poster on instagram by tagging us @PositivePosterLab or #PositivePosterLab so that your message is there for anyone else who needs to hear it too!
The full project details are available on the Belco Arts website here
Positive Poster Lab is presented by Gungahlin Arts as part of Creative Minds – Gungahlin Arts and Mental Health Festival, with the support of Mental Health Month ACT and This is My Brave Australia. Gungahlin Arts is a project of Belco Arts and is supported by the ACT Government through the Gungahlin and Woden Pop Ups initiative.
POSITIVE POSTER LAB VIRTUAL WORKING BEE
Saturday 17 October, 10am-11:30am
FREE and online via Zoom
Join artists Tom Campbell and Sally Holliday for this virtual working bee to create your own positive poster. The artists will take you though some helpful tips to get connected to the creative process, and different methods you can use to make your own poster – with the message that you most need to hear right now. We invite you to dedicate this time to a playful adventure and come along ready to try out a few different ideas that will spark your own inspiration. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your poster via the Positive Poster Lab project, so that your message is available for anyone else who might need to hear it too!
Attendance is free, but places are limited and registration is essential. Go here to register and for all the workshop details.
